Cognizant of the need to abreast its structures on their roles as per union and members welfare is concerned, the Gambia Teachers’ Union has begun a three-day Training of Trainers for 15 participants across the country.
The training taking place from the 28th-30th September at the Regional Education Directorate 4 is aimed at equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to facilitate the training of close to 1532 School Representatives across all regions. The training is jointly funded by Gambia Teachers’ Union and the Swedish Teachers’ Union- Lararfabundet.
Union officials emphasize the timeliness of the training. The training the union believes will enhance operational efficiency, enhance communication, and promote sustainable membership growth and education.
During the next two days, participants will be trained on different modules. Expectations are that the cohort will facilitate the subsequent handing down of tuition to School Representatives in series of training lineups for the SRs.
